The Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Cambridge, affectionately known as the Round Church, has been a place of Christian faith and worship since its foundation around 1130 AD. Although regular Sunday services are no longer held within this historic building, its Christian heritage remains an important part of its story. In 1994, the congregation moved to the larger St Andrew the Great Church in central Cambridge, where worship continues today. The Round Church now serves as a Christian Heritage Visitor Centre, welcoming visitors to discover its remarkable Norman architecture, explore the history of Christianity in Cambridge and learn about the people who have worshipped here over nearly 900 years.
If you would like to attend a church service, everyone is warmly welcomed at St Andrew the Great, located on St Andrew’s Street in Cambridge. The church offers friendly, informal Sunday services with music, Bible readings, prayers and teaching, suitable for regular churchgoers and those exploring Christianity for the first time. Services currently take place every Sunday at 9.30am, 11.15am and 5.00pm, with activities for children and families during the morning services. There is no special dress code, and visitors are welcome simply to come along, listen and participate as much or as little as they feel comfortable with. Whether you are looking for a church community, a place to pray or an opportunity to explore the Christian faith, you will find a warm welcome.
